Artist Statement
She is fascinated with the relationship between the physical space and the intangible such as sociocultural expectations, the human psyche or the spiritual dimension. In depicting these scenes, she explores how our feelings manifest in our surroundings and influence our perception of them as well as the inverse; uncovering the emotions inherent to a space. Informed by her time residing in the United Arab Emirates, Reem is currently examining the built environment of its cities in relation to psychospatial dynamics and memory.
